Since 1993, OEM Off-Highway has recognized companies for introducing components to the off-highway marketplace that are not only innovative but either advance the state of the art, provide a unique engineering solution, or increase equipment performance.

The name of the award is not only an obvious play off the magazine's title, but is meant to emphasize that the products chosen to receive the honor are modern, innovative, engineering solutions.

FW Murphy Controls & Instrumentation PowerView

The PowerView display exhibits "state of the art" thinking, all with actual equipment performance and customer usability in mind. Drawing from FW Murphy's knowledge of how engine OEMs apply J1939, FW Murphy is able to offer a single device with one part number that can either display or translate protective fault codes into plain, understandable text. Although ultra-bright LEDs are incorporated into the device, operators no longer need to fumble with blink codes and service manuals.

Access to the active and stored fault codes of the engine is only worthwhile if it delivers genuine, measurable value. With PowerView, the knowledge gained by real-time service data can equate to significant dollar savings in both up time and maintenance costs. A protective shutdown for "Low Coolant Level" can be diagnosed by simply reading a screen and coolant can be added immediately to keep production going. In the past, without PowerView, and with only blink codes to work with, an operator may be down for hours waiting for the service truck to arrive with the proper solution. Another service trip may then be required as the right parts are retrieved. All of this is saved by the inclusion of one small device.

Operators can choose between English, French, Spanish, or German. All fault codes are translated appropriately along with real-time information. All of this is provided within the unit without any PC or software downloads required.
