GKN Off-Highway

GKN Off-Highway Systems produces a range of components and systems for the agriculture, forestry, construction and mining industries. Components involved in moving and cultivating the earth’s surface – including power take-off shafts, gearboxes, clutches, wheels and cabs for off-highway vehicles – all form part of this division’s specialisms.

During 2006 approximately 55% of sales were to the agricultural market, 29% to the construction equipment markets and the balance to the industrial machinery market.

GKN Wheels accounts for over 50% of the divisional revenue and has around a 30% market share in North America and 50% in Western Europe.

PTO shafts account for around 25% of the sales and market shares are 29% in North America and again 50% in Western Europe

Major customers include John Deere, CNH, Claas and Caterpillar, to name only a few.
