Novotechnik U.S. introduces the Vert-X 31E Series of rotary angle sensors.
- Touchless magnetic design
- Permanent magnet can be secured to an application’s rotating shaft, so there is no direct mechanical linkage between shaft and measuring system, and therefore no wear
- Includes basic connect and done models, and programmable models
- Models in second category are programmed through a programming device connected between sensor and computer’s USB port and software called EasyAdapt which runs on Windows PCs
- Users can select from six default setups or use one as a starting point and customize it
- Output characteristics including custom characteristic curve, angle range, zero point, and curve, as well as gradient-direction versus direction of rotation can be programmed
- Can be ordered with custom factory programmed characteristics defined by users
- Custom characteristic curves include log, step, sinusoidal, sawtooth and other functions
- Features 31 mm profile and 0-360 degree measurement range
- Delivers resolution to 14-bit, repeatability of 0.1 degree or better, and maximum hysteresis of 0.1 degree
- Eight output options are available: 0.1-10V, 0.5-4.5V, 4-20 mA, 10-90% of power supply, SSI, PWM, Incremental and SPI
- Includes 5 and 24V supply models
- Five volt versions have an MTBF of more than 300 years and 24V versions are 240 years
- All models feature ingress protection rating of IP68
- Operating temperature range is -40-85 C (-40-185 F)
- Withstands shock and vibration to 200 g and 50 g respectively
