Market Contraction Continues

There are certain years that stand out as significant years of market consolidation with considerable amounts of mergers and acquisitions. 2016 has been one of those years. Just take a look at the list of acquisitions from the past 8 months alone, and I'm sure there are plenty we have missed:

There are several reasons for the acquisitions, from broadening a product line to increasing global reach. It will be interesting to watch how the remainder of 2016 continues and to see what further consolidation there is on the horizon.
