The 2011 Ag Machinery Conference (AMC) has moved locations to Waterloo, IO. The annual three-day agriculture engineering and education conference will be held May 2, 3 and 4 at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in downtown Waterloo.
New for 2011, the Ag Machinery Conference will hold its opening ceremony at the Cedar Valley TechWorks on Monday May 2. The evening’s events will kick off with comments by 2011 AMC chairman Jim Evans and a representative from the city of Waterloo, followed by a tour of the National Ag-Based Lubricants Center.

Monday morning will provide informative continuing education sessions with this year’s focus on J1939, ISO11783 and more.
Tuesday, May 3 begins the Ag Machinery Conference’s two-day educational technical sessions. Frank Moore from Moore Farms will begin the day on the exhibit floor with a breakfast presentation “Down on the Farm: Rare Skills.” Take this opportunity to visit with a variety of industry suppliers exhibiting at the conference. The exhibit floor will be open Tuesday and Wednesday so be sure to visit with exhibitors showcasing the latest products, technologies and services for the ag industry.
Tuesday’s technical sessions include topics on Product Safety Standards, New Products, CANbus Control, Recreational Engineering and New Technologies in Operator Safety and Automation.
The Ag Machinery Conference’s lunch on Tuesday will include a presentation from Clyde Foles, professor of the Transportation Design Dept. at the College for Creative Studies on “Innovation – Why does it seem so difficult?” The evening will wrap up with an evening social from 4:30 to 6:00 pm on the exhibit floor, providing another opportunity to connect with industry professionals and experts.
Wednesday (May 3) opens with breakfast and remarks on “Engineering Influence in Modern Production Ag” by Sheldon Stevemer from Blue Earth. Technical sessions include industry relevant topics such as Tier 4 - Engine Solutions, Tier 4 - Support Systems, Fire Prevention Technology, Crop Sensing, AE50 Award Recipients and Materials.
The Ag Machinery Conference’s Wednesday lunch presenter is Dennis Banasiak, president, Avello Bioenergy, who will speak about “The Evolution of Biofuels….from Ethanol to Hydrocarbons and Biomaterials.”
