Consumer Confidence In U.S. Increases

U.S. consumers' confidence rises alongside an increase in jobs over the last six months.

According to The Conference Board, a private research group, confidence has increased for consumers in the United States. The confidence index shows an increase of 65.4 from the previous March index of 63.8. Experts say consumers' increased willingness to spend comes from six straight months of job growth.

With the continued rise in costs for food and fuel though its uncertain whether consumer confidence will continue to rise in future months.

And while consumers appear to be more optimistic in some areas, there's still less confidence in areas such as job outlook and the housing market.
