Autocar Releases The E3 Hydraulic Hybrid

Autocar, LLC, announces it will release its E3 Advanced Series Hydraulic Hybrid cab/chassis for commerical sale at Waste Expo 2011. Designed for use in the refuse industry, the E3 offers a 30% to 50% reduction in fuel consumption, for a savings of up to 45% in fuel costs, as well as the lowest emissions yet for class 8 trucks. Along with fuel and emission reductions the E3 minimizes brake wear and operational noise.

Autocar worked with its partner-supplier Parker Hannifin, who developed the Runwise hybrid module to replace traditionally used automatic transmissions. Runwise provides full powertrain management while meeting CARB and EPA regulations.
