Cat Lift Trucks Offers Resources to Help Switch to Electric

Cat Lift Trucks has put together several resources to help customers make the switch to electric powered vehicles.

In response to the material handling industry’s shift toward electric lift trucks, Cat Lift Trucks has released several resources to help warehouse professionals understand the benefits of electric lift trucks, including a white paper that outlines the advantages of electric alternating current (AC) over internal combustion (IC) lift truck technology.

The white paper, titled "Choosing Electric Lift Trucks over Internal Combustion," explains the benefits of electric lift trucks, including reduced emissions, reduced operating costs and increased productivity and performance levels. The white paper also details why material handling professionals should consider the total cost of ownership rather than initial cost when purchasing lift trucks, and provides a benefits comparison chart of gas, diesel and electric technologies.

"We want to help our customers make the best-informed and most cost-effective decision when choosing a lift truck for their specific application," says Carl Modesette, product marketing specialist for Cat Lift Trucks. “Often times, electric lift trucks may seem more expensive due to the initial upfront costs, but in reality, they are becoming an economical solution for a growing number of our customers.”

In conjunction with the white paper, Cat Lift Trucks has launched the "Power Redefined Dictionary," a guide to help users understand frequently-used electric forklift terminology. The dictionary can be found with the AC vs. IC lift truck white paper and the recently launched Lift Truck Cost Comparison Tool, a free web resource that helps customers evaluate the cost savings between AC and IC lift trucks, at www.savewithelectrics.com.
