Reports show that U.S. manufacturing grew at its fastest pace in December, compared with the past six months. Many producers continue to increase production to ensure store and supply shelves will stay well stocked over the next few months.
According to the Institute for Supply Management's index of factory activity, production rose to 53.9 in December, the highest its been since June.
