Recovery Act Helps Battery Component Manufacturer Open New Facility

Oregon-based EnerG2, a battery component manufacturer, recently opened a new facility that was funded in part by the Amercian Recovery and Reinvestment Act. At the new facility the company will produce nano-engineered carbon materials for batteris and other energy storage devices. 

Once it reaches full capacity, EnerG2 will be able to produce enough carbon material for 60,000 electric vehicles a year. 

Using a proprietary freeze-drying process, the company's carbon material can be used in a wide range of energy storage equipment such as ultracapacitors, lithium-ion batteries and advanced lead acid batteries.
