U.S. Army Unveils First Military Fleet of Fuel Cell Vehicles

The U.S. Army has unveiled its fleet of fuel cell powered military vehicles, which are currently being used in Hawaii.

The U.S. Army is currently testing a fleet of 16 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles at one of its bases in Hawaii. Testing of such vehicles is being done to research ways the military can reduce its dependence on foreign oil by using clean, efficient and renewable energy sources instead.

The fleet was unveiled during a ceremony on February 22 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Each of the vehicles are able to travel as far as 200 miles on a single charge, be refueled in five minutes and produces zero emissions.
