Agricultural Groups Ask FCC to Withdraw LightSquared Waiver

Several agricultural associations have banded together to urge the FCC to withdraw the waiver granted to LightSquared in 2011.

Numerous farm equipment and agricultural associations are urging the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to withdraw the waiver it granted to LighSquared in 2011.

In their letter to the FCC, the organizations site evidence that says LightSquared's ground-based network will interfere with GPS technology, which is utilized by a number of agricultural precision technologies. 

While they support expanding broadband access across the U.S., the organizations feel methods that would interfere with current technologies that farmers rely on should not be used.
