Eima International 2012 Set to be Biggest Yet in Show's History

The 2012 edition of Eima International looks to be the biggest yet in the show's history with over 1,800 exhibitors already signed up to display their latest products.

Eima International 2012 will be the most elaborate edition ever with a net exhibition area of 135,000 m², 115,000 m² under cover and 20,000 m² outdoors for demonstration trials, and will feature some 1,800 exhibiting manufacturers arriving from forty countries. The great Bologna exhibition – following on the 2010 record-breaking edition on 105,000 m² of exhibition area drawing 166,000 visitors – will be even more complete with the return of the gardening and greenskeeping sector. Along with the 14 traditional merchandise sectors covering technologies for all types of operations, tractors and all other machines, a virtually infinite range of machinery and equipment for agricultural, livestock raising and forestry work, the exhibition is presenting four specialized salons. These are Eima Components, focused on components for mechanization, Eima M.i.A., dedicated to multifunctional agriculture, Eima Energy, specialized in technology for bioenergy production lines, and, again, Eima Green, machinery and equipment for home and professional gardening.

Interest in the event, one of the world’s most prestigious and traditional reviews in the sector, is running at a high pitch as shown by the participation of the manufacturing industries. To date, eight months ahead of the opening, 80% of the exhibition area in the trade fair center has already been reserved, space available for some merchandise sectors has been totally booked and waiting lists have been opened for such sectors as soil preparation, plant treatment and machinery for harvesting and livestock raising.

FederUnacoma President Massimo Goldoni comments, “The great number of manufacturing industries investing in Eima underscores the international characteristics of the review because reflected here is the economic recovery occurring at the global level and especially the return of investments in agricultural mechanization in key countries like those in Western Europe, Central-Eastern Europe and South America.” He went on to note, “The Italian market is in big trouble and even this year there are no signs of a reversal of the trend. But this will not influence the results of Eima International precisely because this is a world-level event where the greater part of business is linked to trans-national trade among the most diverse countries on every continent.” The international nature of the exhibition is confirmed, other than by the great number of foreign businesspeople arriving, 26,300 of them for the 2010 edition, by the number and importance of official delegations from abroad organized by Unacoma in cooperation with ex ICE, the Italian Foreign Trade Institute, and as a part of projects with the Emilia Romagna Region and Federmacchine. The countries to be represented here include Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, the Balkan countries, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, South Africa, Japan, South Korea and Iran, as well as China and India.
