Four AEM Shows Achieve High Rankings on Top U.S. Trade Shows List

Four AEM shows have been placed on the 2011 Top U.S. Trade Shows list, with CONEXPO-CON/AGG taking the number one spot.

A recent Top U.S. Trade Shows list features all four Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM)-run events held in North America during the 2011 ranking period. The list was compiled by Trade Show News Network (TSNN).

CONEXPO-CON/AGG for the construction industries took the number-one spot, and AEM’s newest show - AG CONNECT Expo & Summit for agribusiness professionals - made the list in only its second show year.

ICUEE-The Demo Expo for construction/utility ranked number four, and also on the list was IFPE, focused on the fluid power/motion control/power transmission industry sectors.

TSNN compiled the list based on net square feet of exhibit space. TSNN is a leading online news and information resource for the trade show, exhibition and event industry. It also operates an extensive online database of more than 19,500 trade shows, exhibitions, public events and conferences.

AEM emphasizes that the quality of the show experience is the main goal – not size just for size’s sake. “Our success is the result of our industry and customer focus on quality. We have been able to deliver results because of the energetic and diligent teamwork by so many during our show cycles,” states Megan Tanel, vice president exhibitions & events for AEM.

AEM owns and produces trade shows for the benefit of participants and has a reputation for delivering measurable value. The shows promote industry cooperation and co-locations to enhance networking and increase results for participants; they are industry-run and education is a major component.

AEM shows are privileged to have great industry support and that makes all the difference. For both attendees and exhibitors, these rankings reflect their commitment to the shows, which is the reason for their continued success,” states Melissa Magestro, AEM’s senior director exhibitions.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG ranked number one with more than 2 million net square feet of exhibit space and ICUEE ranked number four with more than 1 million net square feet.

AG CONNECT Expo & Summit has continued to grow since its first show in 2010 and ranked 129 with 174,500 net square feet; IFPE 2011 was a sellout for space and the largest in its history with more than 140,000 net square feet to rank 161.

“AG CONNECT's early success in growth is an excellent example of the value of co-locations to transform shows into industry gathering places,” notes Sara Truesdale Mooney, AEM show director. “The upcoming 2013 show continues the pace and the now-biennial event is already 10% larger than 2011.”
