Orders for Class 5 to 8 trucks up 21% in September

ACT Research reports orders for Class 5 to 8 trucks were up 21% in September.

According to ACT Research, the total number of Class 5 to 8 truck orders booked in September were up 21% compared to the same period last year.

Net orders for Class 5 to 8 trucks over the past 12 months totaled 540,000 units, which is the strongest 12-month period of truck orders since November 2005.

While Class 8 truck orders were down 500 units from August, orders were 32% higher compared to September 2013.

Preliminary Class 5 to 7 orders were up 3% from August and 9% from last September.
