Horton Receives United Way Award

Horton's Carmel, IN, location recently received the Company that Cares award from the United Way of Central Indiana.

Horton Inc.’s Carmel, IN, location has been honored with the Company that Cares award from United Way of Central Indiana. The award is given annually to a select group of companies in the six-county Central Indiana area for results in the workplace campaign. Horton Carmel has earned the award in the past two years. This year, the Carmel location donated $50,000 to Hamilton County’s Read-up Program.

The Company that Cares award recognizes organizations that reach fundraising and participation goals. It also acknowledges achievements for volunteer participation, leadership giving and other community involvement.

“We are pleased to receive this prized award. Horton’s corporate culture encourages giving and volunteerism at all locations worldwide,” says Krista Fox, manager of human resources, Horton Carmel. “The Read-up Program helps children in Hamilton County reach their potential, and we are very excited to be part of that.”

The company has a long history of participation in United Way’s workplace campaign. Horton also provides leadership in Junior Achievement, involvement in Meals on Wheels, donations to various other nonprofit organizations and scholarship support for local technical colleges and universities.
