Caterpillar’s hydraulic excavators have played a key role in the industry by fueling China’s growth and enabling operators around the country to work more efficiently and productively. The new 312D2 GC offers customers an affordable hydraulic excavator option that has a versatile and fuel-efficient performance.
A durable, long-term value machine designed for the customer
Designed specifically for China, the 312D2 GC features an updated engine for higher productivity and fuel-efficiency, an advanced hydraulic system that enables operators to work in the toughest conditions and an updated interior and exterior design to maximize operator comfort.
With many construction contractors concerned about excavator fuel consumption as well as the cost per ton, the 312D2 GC features a 3054C engine that maximizes fuel efficiency and reduces sound levels. In addition, the engine is designed to handle poor quality fuel with better reliability.
To maximize productivity, the hydraulic excavator has 2% more hydraulic pressure for additional lift and breakout forces. Auxiliary hydraulic and electrical lines are routed to the boom foot making installation of hydraulic circuits much easier. To increase efficiency and lower operating costs, the boom and stick regeneration circuit saves energy during boom-down and stick-in operation. Operators do not need to learn different modes; an automatic boom and swing priority function automatically selects the best mode based on joystick movement.
Superior operator comfort with new interior and exterior
With operators working long hours at a time, the new 312DC GC is designed to maximize operator comfort. The hydraulic excavator features a tool box that offers a sturdier, user-friendly design, allowing the storage of larger range of tools and providing operators with better access into the tool box. The steps have been redesigned to enhance safety. New anti-skid plates help prevent slipping.
Inside the cabin, the interior has been designed to reduce operator fatigue and increase comfort. Frequently used switches are conveniently placed for easier access and the consoles and armrests are designed for better comfort and adjustability. In addition, there are more seat options, and customers can choose from the standard mechanical suspension seat or the optional air suspension seat with heater.
