James Sharkey has joined Pressure Systems International (PSI) as Director of Strategic Initiatives. In his new position with PSI, Sharkey will play a leadership role in expanding the market for the company’s automatic tire inflation system, marketed in the U.S. as the Meritor Tire Inflation Systems (MTIS) by PSI. In the U.S. today an estimated 36% of all new trailers are equipped with the system. PSI has also opened markets in 39 countries and continues to increase sales worldwide every year.

Sharkey has an extensive and broad-based background in the commercial vehicle industry. He most recently was President of AXN Heavy Duty, where he led the start-up business in achieving $20M annual revenues within two years of product launch. Prior to his association with AXN, Sharkey was Vice President of Sales for the Strick Group and spent more than 23 years with Meritor holding increasingly responsible positions in engineering, sales, marketing, distribution and business management. He has a Bachelor of Science of Mechanical Engineering degree from Kettering University in Flint, MI, as well as a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in international business from Oakland University, Rochester, MI.

“Having someone with Jim’s background and reputation in our industry join our company is a real benefit to PSI,” comments Tim Musgrave, President. “His knowledge and industry relationships are assets that are hard to find and we're very pleased to have him as part of our team.”
