Napoleon Engineering Services (NES), a leading ISO9001:2008 and AS9100C certified custom bearing manufacturing, bearing inspection, and bearing testing facility, as well as custom bearing test rig manufacturer, will be presenting a special free-to-attend Webinar, "The Bridge Between Inspection and Testing: A Cost Effective Solution to Roller Bearing Stress Analysis," in conjunction with the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. CST.
"The Bridge Between Inspection and Testing: A Cost Effective Solution to Roller Bearing Stress Analysis" will discuss the tangible benefits of performing basic stress analysis after bearing inspection and before product testing to aid OEM sourcing specialists and design engineers in their efforts to evaluate and qualify new bearing suppliers. In addition, the webinar will review the required key inspection characteristics for conducting a basic stress analysis, explaining how these can provide quick and low-cost data points to help determine the net effects of manufacturing design and workmanship quality upon contact bearing stress.
The webinar technical program will be presented by both Chris Napoleon, NES President and Chief Engineer, and Colby Austin, NES Inspection and Testing Technical Business Manager. Napoleon founded NES in 1997, after several years within the aerospace bearing industry. With the increased demand within the global supply chain for bearings, Chris saw a need for companies to reduce risk when sourcing products and developed NES Bearings' Inspection and Testing departments. Today, under his guidance, NES has grown to become the largest independent bearing testing and inspection facility in North America. His colleague, Austin, is a degreed Mechanical Engineer who has worked within the NES bearing testing department in a progressive series of design and development roles, including as design engineer, bearing engineer, and now as technical business manager for bearing inspection and bearing testing. He has been instrumental in the development of statistical techniques to evaluate bearing test results, as well as in the design of custom bearing test rigs for both NES and customer use.
The streaming webinar will be available online through WebEx, an online event service on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Central. Cost is free to both STLE members and nonmembers. Click here to register.
