Quantum to supply 123 Back-of-Cab natural gas fuel systems for refuse application

Quantum has received an order to supply 123 of its lightweight DGE Back-of-Cab systems for use in heavy-duty refuse trucks.

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide Inc., a global leader in natural gas storage systems, integration and vehicle system technologies, has received an order for delivery of its industry leading, lightweight 123 DGE Back-of-Cab (BOC) system for use in a heavy-duty refuse truck application.

Quantum's BOC systems are produced and assembled at Quantum's tank manufacturing and integration facility in Lake Forest, CA. The refuse customer uses Peterbilt 355 trucks and the installation and service program will be managed through the Peterbilt dealership network. The installation will also be supported by Quantum utilizing its dealer training and post-sales service program that was implemented this year.

"We are excited about the opportunity this order presents within a new application market for Quantum, and the ability to work with the Peterbilt dealership network on this program," says Brian Olson, President and CEO of Quantum. "In addition to the growing market for heavy-duty CNG Class 8 tractors, there is steady growth in refuse applications. This program adds to our existing programs that leverage heavy duty OEM dealerships, transportation companies and other truck associations for installation, training and service that will enable build-out and service support in this industry."

Quantum's robust structural design, based on OEM-level requirements such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), as well as its ultra lightweight Type IV tank technology offers end users a complete high quality storage system with lower operating costs and faster return on investment. Additionally, Quantum's on-site dealer and technician training and post-sales service program provide for technical training and support, training manuals, hotlines, warranty administration and regional technical support staff.
