Fozmula names Joe Barry Managing Director

Fozmula announces it has named Joe Barry as Managing Director.

UK based sensor specialists, Fozmula, have appointed Joe Barry as Managing Director. The former Managing Director of Consort Medical's devices division, Bespak, joined Fozmula on July 1.

Prior to his tenure at Bespak, Barry spent a number of years in the USA, Netherlands and the UK in senior product management and commercial roles for plastics divisions of companies including Dow Chemical and GE. His specialist knowledge of engineering plastics is underpinned by a degree in Textile Management and Marketing from Philadelphia University.

The company Barry is joining, Fozmula, originated in Leamington Spa 37 years ago and has grown steadily to become the dominant sensor supplier to the generator set market and, more recently, a significant producer of sensors for defence and off-highway vehicles. To accommodate further growth, the business recently moved to new premises on the Tachbrook Park industrial estate in Warwick.

Welcoming Barry’s appointment, Fozmula Chairman and founder, John Griffiths says, "The selection process for this key role has been particularly rigorous. My fellow board members and I felt Joe's international strategic business experience set him apart from some very strong candidates. This is a critical period of growth for Fozmula and I'm confident that Joe will provide the insight required to enable us to realise our ambitions.”

On his appointment, Barry comments, "Fozmula is an established business with a loyal customer base. I'm excited by the prospect of working with the management team and employees to build on this success. The market is changing rapidly, presenting us with both opportunities and challenges. Fozmula's customers can look forward to innovative new products and we'll be working hard to further improve our customer service and profitability through efficiency and teamwork.”

Joe lives in the nearby town of Kenilworth with his wife and two children. A keen Rugby fan, and occasional player, Joe spends much of his spare time coaching juniors and encouraging them to share his passion for the game.
