dSPACE updates Embedded PC MicroAutoBox II prototyping system with Intel Core i7 processor

dSPACE has updated the Embedded PC extension of its MicroAutoBox II prototyping system to include a more powerful variant with an Intel Core i7 processor.

The Embedded PC extension for the compact prototyping system dSPACE MicroAutoBox II is now available in a new, more powerful variant with an Intel Core i7 processor. While the real-time component of a control system under development is calculated on the real-time processor of the MicroAutoBox II, the non-real-time component is processed on the Embedded PC equipped with the i7. MicroAutoBox II with Embedded PC is a combined system that is robust, compact and designed for in-vehicle use.

The new i7 provides the processing power necessary for particularly demanding Microsoft Windows applications, especially when challenging control systems like advanced driver assistance, infotainment and telematics are being developed. Sensors used by the control system (e.g., cameras, radars and lidar) typically generate large amounts of data that can be optimally processed with the MicroAutoBox Embedded PC. 

The new Embedded PC variant with i7 (dual core, 2 x 1.7/2.8 GHz) has 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and 128 GB of flash memory (64 GB integrated, 64 GB flexibly via CFast card). The Embedded PC can be used with Windows 7 or an Ubuntu/Linux operating system. The entire MicroAutoBox II and Embedded PC system can be switched on and off synchronously by remote control.

An Embedded PC variant with the Intel Atom N270 processor is also available.
