dSPACE has announced today that Dr. Peter Waeltermann has been named president of dSPACE Inc., the local dSPACE company in North America. dSPACE is a global, high-tech company that provides solutions to accelerate the development and test of electronic control units (ECUs) and mechatronic control systems. dSPACE tools are widely used throughout the automotive, aerospace, commercial vehicle, electric drive and medical industries, as well as in academia.
Dr. Waeltermann is stepping in for Kevin Kott who, earlier this year, announced his plans to retire after serving as president of dSPACE Inc. since November 2001.
As Dr. Herbert Hanselmann, CEO of dSPACE, says, “Peter Waeltermann was an obvious choice for this position. He knows technology as well as management and has a wide range of interests. Most importantly, he already has worked closely with our American customers for the last ten years, helping them bring their projects to success. He is also looking forward to becoming a part of the community, settling down in Michigan with his family of four.”
“It is truly an honor to lead one of the largest dSPACE operations outside of Germany,” Dr. Waeltermann says. “This will be a great opportunity to build on the solid foundation that Kevin Kott laid during his 13 years as president. Under his guidance as an experienced manager, the company grew from 30 people to 75 plus. Mr. Kott is retiring from dSPACE, but is leaving us a very successful, experienced team.”
As Executive President, Dr. Waeltermann will focus on customer orientation and extending the company’s technical and product knowledge to form a basis for future growth.
