With the official delivery of 80 Golden Dragon buses powered by FPT Industrial’s Euro VI compliant Cursor 9 engines to an Israeli customer, the long-term cooperation with Xiamen Golden Dragon and FPT was launched. This event also marks the first mass produced Euro VI coach export from the Chinese bus manufacturer.

The 8.7-liter Cursor 9 engine, with power ranges of 228 kW (310 hp) and 265 kW (360 hp), features the latest generation Common Rail system, delivering higher flexibility in fuel and timing injection, thus allowing an excellent fuel consumption.

To comply with the latest European emissions legislation, the FPT Industrial engine adopts the state-of-the-art and proprietary High Efficiency SCR system (HI-eSCR), reducing NOx levels by more than 95% through selective catalytic reduction (SCR), without the need of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), while particulate matter is abated by means of a passive regenerated diesel particulate filter (DPF). The combination of the Cursor 9 and the HI-eSCR system brings excellent fuel consumption and market-leading maintenance intervals, thus ensuring Golden Dragon coaches an extremely competitive Total Cost of Ownership.

FPT Industrial, among the top three powertrain manufacturers on a world-wide basis, with a turnover amounting to 3,331 million euros and a production of 545,000 engines, 62,000 transmissions and 157,000 axles (figures referring to 2013), is part of the CNH Industrial Group.

Golden Dragon is a leading coach manufacturer in China, with a yearly production of 23,000 heavy and medium coaches and 20,000 light buses. It has some 530 service points in China and over 80 service centers worldwide.
