Volvo Trucks featuring vocational, heavy-haul models at the National Heavy Equipment Show

The VHD 200 and VNX 300 are two of the truck models for vocational and heavy-haul applications Volvo Trucks will display at the National Heavy Equipment Show.

Volvo Trucks will showcase its truck models designed to handle vocational tasks like construction, oil field and logging, and heavy haul at the National Heavy Equipment Show March 5 to 6 at The International Center in Mississauga, Ontario, near Toronto.

The Volvo booth (No. 5040) will display a Volvo VHD 200 vocational model fitted with a dump body and a Volvo VNX 300 heavy-haul tractor model.

Engineered for a wide range of vocational applications, the Volvo VHD 200 offers an easily customizable chassis, up to five power take-off options and Volvo's electronic bodybuilder module, simplifying electric and hydraulic connections.

The Volvo VHD 200 on display has a gross weight rating of 80,000 lbs. and features:

  • The Volvo D13 diesel engine with 500 hp and up to 1,750 lbs.-ft. of torque;
  • The Volvo I-Shift automated manual transmission;
  • The Volvo VF20 – 20,000-pound front axle; and a
  • Meritor RT46-164EH – 46,000-pound rear axle.

Designed for heavy-haul applications such as machinery transport, timber hauling and long combination vehicles, the Volvo VNX 300 offers a wide range of weight ratings and specs that help accommodate diverse weight distribution requirements. Increased ride-height improves articulation and ground clearance for a smoother ride.

The Volvo VNX 300 on display has a gross weight rating of 125,000 lbs. and features:

  • The Volvo D16 diesel engine with 500 horsepower and up to 1,850 lbs.-ft. of torque;
  • The Eaton Fuller RTLO-18918B 18-speed manual transmission;
  • The Volvo VF20 – 20,000-pound front axle; and a
  • Meritor RT46-160 – 46,000-pound rear axle.

Like all Volvo-powered models, the VHD 200 and VNX 300 come standard with Volvo Remote Diagnostics, a telematics-based system that monitors critical fault codes, enabling proactive diagnostics and repair planning to maximize uptime.
