New Holland introduces two new T7 Series models with ISOBUS Class 3 capabilities

The New Holland T7.290 and T7.315 tractors include IntelliCruise ISOBUS Class 3 tractor-baler automation technology that enables the baler to control the tractor's speed in order to optimize feed rate and ensure constant flake thickness.

New Holland expands its tractor offering with brand new models, the T7.290 and T7.315, to meet the demand for growers needing increased power, but the versatility to perform numerous jobs. These new T7 Series tractors deliver power without compromise, class-leading torque and high efficiency. These models offer growers unparalleled versatility for performing a wide range of jobs. They are ideal for row crop work, baling hay, mowing, hauling manure or other big chores. The Horizon cab provides a quiet and supremely comfortable operating environment, along with precision technology that enables growers to optimize efficiency and performance, while staying connected with their entire farming operation. These new models also feature New Holland’s revolutionary IntelliCruise tractor-baler automation that allows the New Holland BigBaler to control the tractor’s speed according to changes in the windrow to maximize productivity and bale consistency.

“These new models are perfect for farming operations that need the power of a large-frame tractor with the versatility of a medium-frame unit,” explains Dan Valen, Cash Crop Marketing Manager. “They are ideal for PTO applications such as baling and mowing on large dairy and livestock farms as well as hauling manure, pulling feeding mixers, and running 12 to 16 row planters and pulling grain carts on row crop farms.”

High power, responsiveness, and efficiency

A fundamental design input of the T7.290 and T7.315 was to improve vehicle efficiency to new levels. The engine features New Holland’s ECOBlue Hi-eSCR (High-Efficiency Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology to meet Tier 4 Final (Tier 4B) emissions standards. This aftertreatment system, which has no CEGR or DPF, allows the engine to optimize combustion, torque and fuel efficiency, maximizing power output from each cylinder. An electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger delivers the torque required to operate at low engine speed and react quickly to load changes.

These new T7 Series models also feature New Holland’s award-winning Auto Command continuously variable transmission (CVT) with four direct drive points with 100% mechanical efficiency. These points have been positioned to ensure they match perfectly to the most frequently used speeds during high-speed field work such as baling or mowing, high-speed transport and heavy draft work.

For PTO work these T7 lead the field. A four speed rear PTO and a two speed front PTO allow the engine to be operated as efficiently as possible. If mowing in light crop conditions the operator simply uses the in cab speed shift to select 1,000 rpm Economy for the front and rear mowers and then starts counting the fuel savings.

Hydraulic circuits have been redesigned to reduce parasitic losses, no oil moves on these tractors unless it is required, and with a 220 lpm pump available significant oil flow can be obtained at low engine speeds with again fuel savings.

Excellent maneuverability, traction, soil protection

The two new T7 models can mount larger group 48 and 49 tires, and customers have the option of rear and front dual wheels. This results in excellent traction and, very importantly, minimal soil compaction. An added benefit for the driver is the ability to monitor the tire pressure on the IntelliView IV display: they can set the ideal pressure for the job they are performing and monitor the pressure on up to 16 tires and receive a warning if the tire pressure moves away from the set values, enabling them to optimize traction and minimize soil compaction.

Maximum comfort, minimum fatigue

The Horizon cab offers the premium comfort levels of T7 models, with extremely quiet operation at just 69 dB(A), the new generation Auto Comfort ventilated seat with the quality trim of a luxury car, and the standard SideWinder II armrest. The new seat, together with the standard Comfort Ride suspension and new heavy-duty suspended front axle, provide an exceptionally smooth and cushioned ride. The high-intensity 360-degree LED work light packages provide exceptional illumination when working after dark safely and productively.

Leading edge connectivity that maximizes productivity and efficiency

The T7.290 and T7.315 automation features such as the latest generation Headland Turn Sequencing, IntelliSteer auto guidance and PLM Connect, put the driver in full control of the tractor.

Optimized for baling efficiency

These new models also feature New Holland’s IntelliCruise ISOBUS Class 3 tractor-baler automation technology that enables the baler to control the tractor’s speed to optimize feed rate and produce a constant flake thickness. These new T7 series tractors are engineered to be the perfect match for New Holland BigBalers and operators will see their productivity soar with this revolutionary feature.

With IntelliCruise the baler automatically adjusts the tractor’s forward speed in relation to the crop yield going into the baler. It calculates the best speed based on the information received from charge sensors, ensuring the optimal feeding rate is maintained constant in varying field and crop conditions. The operator doesn’t need to control the tractor’s speed or monitor the capacity graph and far fewer interventions are required, so that fatigue is dramatically reduced.

A fatigued or inexperienced operator will find it more difficult to keep the charge constant and will be slower to react to changes in crop or field conditions. With IntelliCruise, they would be able to achieve up to 9% more productivity, as the system automatically maintains maximum efficiency. This also results in fuel savings, as the tractor remains at optimum speed, making only necessary adjustments; a fatigued or inexperienced operator could save as much as 4% fuel.

Another advantage of IntelliCruise is the lower risk of downtime as the feed control system monitors incoming crop, so there the machine can spend more time working productively.
