Ricardo, Inc. reveals technology, Ethanol Boosted Direct Injection (EBDI) that optimizes ethanol-fueled engines to a level of performance that exceeds gasoline engine efficiency and approaches levels previously reached only by diesel engines.
• Prototype EBDI is a 3.2-liter V6 engine
• Scalable technology
• Ethanol performance target: Peak torque: 900 Nm (~35 bar BMEP @ 3,000 rpm); peak power: 450 hp (5,000 rpm)
