H 3000 Fully-Automatic Parallel Hybrid-Propulsion System

Allison Transmission Holdings Inc. unveiled its H 3000 fully-automatic parallel hybrid-propulsion system for commercial vehicles at The Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. The product is targeted for medium- and heavy-duty trucks in distribution, refuse, utility and shuttle applications.

• Based on Allison 3000 Series transmission 
• Hybrid system components include a motor-generator, power electronics and lithium-ion cell battery packs
• Scalable to each application
• Modular lithium-ion battery packs enable optimal amount of energy capacity to be tailored to a specific vehicle or duty cycle, allowing for greater flexibility and performance
• Captures otherwise wasted energy during vehicle braking and uses it to assist in vehicle propulsion and powering of auxiliary equipment
• Features torque converter fully-automatic transmission and hybrid motor-generator which enables maximum efficiency while achieving performance and productivity
• Provides smooth, uninterrupted power to the wheels
• Includes latest generation of electronic controls which offer a variety of features to further improve productivity and efficiency
• Offers fuel savings of up to 25% depending on vocation and duty cycle
