SIKO GmbH has developed its SGH10 measurement system for direct stroke measurement in hydraulic cylinders.

  • High quality plug ensures system fulfills protection class IP69K
  • Cylinder stroke is measured precisely using wire-actuated sensor technology installed directly in the cylinder
  • Extension of cylinder pulls out the wire, which is wound up in a wire drum
  • Rotation of wire drum is detected without contact by sensor electronics and used to calculate linear travel, making it possible to detect position of cylinder precisely and completely at all times
  • Magnets used to detect rotation are scanned by the electronics through pressure-resistant base plate
  • Electronics are fully encapsulated on unpressurized side of the system
  • Entire measuring system is built into the cylinder and optimally protected from external environmental conditions
  • Cannot be influenced or damaged by loose parts or by environmental influences
  • Integration into cylinder reduces costs by eliminating need for bore holes in the piston to integrate sensor rods over the entire measuring path which is expensive and weakens piston structure
  • Single, small thread in the piston is all that is necessary to mount the cable
  • Measuring technology can be used in telescopic cylinders, providing design engineers with entirely new options when developing forward-thinking assistance systems and supplemental functions in mobile machines
