Employees from the company's recently acquired Intelligent Hydraulic Drives (IHD) unit will begin moving into the facility this month. Associates from the company's Auburn Hills office will complete their relocation at the end of the year.
"We are extremely excited about the new potential this new facility offers," says Berend Bracht, president and CEO of Bosch Rexroth Corp. "We believe the automotive industry and our other industrial customers in the region will see tremendous benefits arising from the full range of services we will offer in close proximity."
IHD, acquired from the Dana Corp. last year, specializes in the development, engineering, and integration of hydraulic hybrid components into motor vehicles.
Bosch Rexroth's existing Auburn Hills facility houses competency centers for all four of the company's industrial technology groups: Electric Drives and Controls, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Linear Motion and Assembly Technologies. It also serves as a regional sales center and hosts several global account management teams.
"I'm very pleased that Bosch Rexroth will be consolidating its technical center in the Rochester Hills SmartZone," says the city's mayor, Bryan K. Barnett. "It retains an important company in one of the industries that we target and brings more high-paying jobs to the community."
