Based on its performance for quality, cost reduction, and on-time delivery, Strong Forge & Fabrication, Batavia, NY, received the Supplier of the Year Award 2006 from the Nissan Forklift Corp. North America, Marengo, IL. Nissan Forklift manufactures engine-powered and electric material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet trucks, stackers and tow tractors.

Strong Forge & Fabrication produces LP tank brackets, forged mast caps and weldments for Nissan Forklift, which selected Strong Forge & Fabrication for the award from a field of more than 60 suppliers.

"It was particularly gratifying to receive the honor as it tends to be more difficult managing a relationship from a distance," says Mitchell Strong, president of Strong Forge & Fabrication.

Strong Forge & Fabrication was established in 2002, assuming the operations and facilities of the former Batavia Metal Products Corp. The company is an integrated metalworker specializing in producing heavy-duty, drop-forged parts and fabricated products used on industrial lift trucks as well as in off-road vehicles, construction equipment, farm implements, and components for architectural and ornamental fabrications.

At a ceremony in Rockford, IL, Strong Forge & Fabrication received the Supplier of the Year Award 2006 from Nissan Forklift. Tak Tokugawa, president, Steve Schmidt, vice president Supplier Management & Materials and sales & marketing, and Judy Love, senior sourcing engineer, presented the award to Mitchell Strong.
