Study Shows GPS Interference Threatens US Economy

A recent study shows that an interference with GPS systems will cause a major threat to the US economy.

The company LightSquared is currently planning to deploy 40,000 ground stations. However, these ground stations will cause intereference with Global Positioning System (GPS) technology which is heavily relied on in a number of industries, including agriculture. A recent economic study found that if the ground stations are implemented, it would put 3.3 million U.S. jobs and $96 billion at risk.

The study also mentions that use of GPS is continuously growing and creating more jobs as well as economic benefits.
