Milwaukee awards New Flyer contract for 75 clean diesel buses

New Flyer has received a contract from the Milwaukee Country Transit System to provide up to 75 of its 40-foot Xcelsior clean diesel buses.

New Flyer of America Inc., a subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc., the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses in the United States and Canada, announces that the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) awarded New Flyer a contract for up to 75 heavy-duty 40-foot Xcelsior clean diesel buses.

The contract contains a firm order for 28 XD40 buses with options for an additional 47 over the next three years. MCTS currently operates a fleet of 488 heavy-duty transit buses, all of which have been built by New Flyer.
