bauma, the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment, will take place at the Munich exhibition center from April 7 to 13. The trade fair will be opened on April 7 at 9:30 a.m. by Klara Geywitz, German Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Building, Bavaria’s Minister President Dr. Markus Söder and Munich’s Mayor Dieter Reiter together with the CEO of Messe München, Stefan Rummel in the Restaurant Turmblick. Media representatives will have the opportunity to ask questions and take photos and videos. The official tour of the trade fair will then begin.
“bauma is more than just a world-leading trade fair. It is the heartbeat of the industry. The impetus provided by bauma and its exhibitors has a decisive influence on the markets. We are delighted this year to welcome over 3,500 exhibitors from 57 countries to the exhibition center in Riem. The focus is on future guidelines for the industry: digitalization and sustainability,” said CEO Stefan Rummel in a press release.
They are reflected in the five key topics, which will be brought to life in the supporting program and through exhibitors’ innovations: climate neutrality, alternative drive concepts, networked construction, sustainable construction, and the mining challenge. After all, the construction sector is currently still responsible worldwide for around 38% of carbon emissions, of which around 10% are attributable to construction processes and the production of building materials.
The carbon footprint can be significantly reduced by integrating innovative, climate-neutral technologies such as electric wheel loaders and autonomous excavators, and using sustainable building materials. bauma is a crucial platform for presenting innovative, climate-friendly technologies that help decarbonize the industry and support the EU target of climate neutrality by 2050.
