In addition to casting, Graphicast provides secondary machining (milling, boring, drilling, and direct thread tapping) in-house using precision CNC machining centers with rotary axes. Dedicated fixtures, custom-designed by Graphicast engineers, maximize repeatability and minimize cost. For quality control, Graphicast uses a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to precisely measure key dimensions of sample parts.
To accelerate time-to-market, Graphicast offers a unique design and rapid prototyping service. Graphicast's design team will partner with a customer during the initial component design to help optimize the part as a casting. Prototypes can be produced by stereo lithography (SLA) or can be CNC machined from ZA-12 stock to provide form, fit, and function samples. Upon acceptance, prototype designs are then converted to production part designs. This single-step design process significantly reduces development time, part cost, and time-to-market.
