Manitou Group has opened a Manitou Center in Malaysia to better serve its local customers and develop its activities in the zone. The group decided to operate directly in Malaysia, where the market already has telescopics. This is the first Manitou Center in Asia.

The Manitou Center Malaysia sells and rents the group's products, machines under the brands Manitou, Gehl and Mustang, and also provides services such as spare parts, guarantee extensions, financing and full service contracts. This entity also makes a fleet of telescopic trucks available for rental.

This new concept enables Manitou to be present in certain zones with the assurance of supplying user customers with high-quality equipment, with all of the services corresponding to the standards defined by the Manitou group. This type of initiative also enables the group to be engaged with what is happening on the ground and to benefit from this experience to continuously improve the products and services offered by the brands, with the customer at the focus of its decisions.

Manitou Center Malaysia is initially targeting the construction, rental and oil markets, with possible developments in other sectors. Malaysia is also a large exporter of palm oil, a sector in which materials handling is essential for the activity; Manitou is already referenced in this sector.

This country represents the second-largest fleet of Manitou telescopic trucks in Asia. This fleet requires a commercial presence and increased provision of services on site.

Manitou Center Malaysia occupies a surface area of 900 m² dedicated to these markets, including a sales area, a spare parts shop and offices.

The team, which has been in place since January 1, 2016, currently includes one operations manager, one sales executive and three technicians all managed by the Manitou Asia subsidiary.

The objectives of the team are clear: to double the capacity of operations within 3 years and triple the number of telescopics, to reach 50% market share in this segment.

Julien Poupart, Operations Manager, says, "The opening of this Manitou Center is very important for the development of Services and Solutions offers to our customers. We want to provide them with a service adapted to their requirements. In particular, we have a rental fleet of new telescopic trucks to enable our customers to develop their activities with latest-generation equipment."
