AKG Thermal Systems has launched an online 3D Cooler Configurator built by CADENAS USA on the eCATALOG 3Dfindit platform. The tool is designed to help distributors, OEM engineers and equipment designers configure cooling products and download production-ready CAD models directly into their designs.
By providing immediate access to engineering data, the platform allows customers to evaluate products and verify fit within equipment designs without waiting for manual model creation.
"We wanted to make it easier for distributors and engineers to get the product information they need when they need it," said Aaron Hawkins, marketing manager at AKG of America. "The 3D Cooler Configurator gives customers direct access to configure products, review technical information and download CAD models without waiting for someone to generate them manually."
Prior to the launch, customers requesting CAD models worked directly with AKG's sales and design teams. Because many cooling systems are built from configurable options, each request often required a custom CAD model before delivery.
"As requests for CAD models continued to grow, our distributors needed faster turnaround times," said Beena Jaiprakash, engineering manager at AKG Thermal Systems. "If we had five or six model requests in the queue, customers could end up waiting to get a 3D file and that really held up design time."
The configurator currently covers six AKG product families: the DCS, D, DCSB, AR/ARL, CR/CRL and HR series. These families represent more than 37,700 possible configurations available online. Users can adjust products based on application requirements, view technical specifications and download PDF datasheets.
AKG noted that the full catalog of its product families will be available on the platform in the near future. The automation of standard product selection allows the company's engineering team to focus on specialized applications and custom thermal solutions.
