The Timken Company, a global leader in bearings and mechanical power transmission products, was named one of America's Best Large Employers by Forbes magazine. The list includes 500 companies and nonprofit organizations in 25 industries and honors employers based on an independent survey asking how likely individuals would be to recommend their employer—or other employers in their industry—to someone else. This is the second consecutive year Timken has won the award.
"All of the value we create for our customers begins inside the company with our associates," says Richard G. Kyle, Timken President and Chief Executive Officer. "We strive to create an environment where all employees are treated with respect and have the opportunity to grow as both individuals and professionals."
Based on an independent survey by Statista.com, the employers on the Forbes list were selected by 30,000 U.S. employees working for companies with at least 1,000 people in their U.S. operations. They were asked anonymously through several online panels if they would recommend their employer, or any other employers in their industry, to a potential employee. The mix of respondents (gender, age, region, educational level and ethnicity) in the sample was representative of the overall U.S. workforce. A secondary dimension to their assessment involved another 35 questions about work-related topics.
