New Testing Shows Voith SensoTop Transmission Provides Fuel Savings Up to 7%

Recent field tests in transit buses indicate Voith's SensoTop transmission can provide up to 7% fuel savings.

Voith GmbH recently conducted testing of its SensoTop transmission technology on transit buses and found the technology can provide fleets up to 7% in fuel savings.

Testing was conducted in Minneapolis, MN; Salt Lake City, UT; Austin, TX; Lancaster, PA; Portland, OR; and San Mateo County, CA. Over the course of several weeks, fleets in these cities acheived fuel savings between 3 and 7%.

SensoTop is Voith's transmission control software which enables the transmission to automatically adapt gear-shifting points based on accerlation, vehicle load and topography of the route.
