Trelleborg Participating in Zero Impact Project to Limit the Company's Environmental Impact

As part of its participation in the Zero Impact project, Trelleborg has helped create 1.22 acres of new forest in Costa Rica to minimize the impact of the carbon dioxide emissions from its manufacturing processes.

Trelleborg Zero Impact

Global developer and supplier of tire and complete wheel solutions for the agricultural industry, Trelleborg, is participating in Zero Impact, an environmental project set up to calculate, reduce and offset the CO2 emissions generated by the activities of individuals, events, products and businesses across the globe.

Started by LifeGate, the Zero Impact project uses environmental impact assessments to compensate for CO2 emissions generated across the globe by protecting and creating forests.

Dedicated to reducing its environmental impact, Trelleborg was keen to offset the CO2 emissions generated by the manufacture of its merchandising. In order to offset the 11,380 lbs. of CO2 generated by the manufacture of its limited edition BlueTire Technology fleece top, the company contributed to the creation of 1.22 acers of new forest in Costa Rica.

“As an industry leader we are of course, passionate about creating added value for farmers, particularly through new product innovations, however, at the same time, we are equally as passionate about safeguarding the environment; our TM Blue concept is proof of this,” says Lorenzo Ciferri, Marketing Director Agricultural & Forestry Tires at Trelleborg Wheel Systems.

“Applied to our entire manufacturing cycle, from design to production, our TM Blue concept also ensures worker safety and environmental protection. Our BlueTire Technology, which was born out of this philosophy, represents a collection of innovations, patents and processes from which the new TM product lines were conceived. This ensures maximum performance and environmental friendliness, now and in the future. As such, we are extremely proud to be able to take part in such a worthwhile project and be chosen as a partner by LifeGate.”
