MTU and MTU Onsite Energy will showcase an all-encompassing, fully integrated product portfolio of power and propulsion systems for construction and industrial applications and mining at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014. Rolls-Royce Power Systems brands MTU and MTU Onsite Energy will pack two exhibit areas with the latest in diesel engine and distributed energy technologies. As the international gathering place for professionals in the construction industries, CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014 takes place March 4 to 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and is expected to attract more than 125,000 attendees.

MTU – Booth No. 84430, South Hall

The MTU exhibit, located in the convention center’s South Hall, will feature the company‘s complete power range of EPA Tier 4 compliant engines specially developed for off-highway applications in the construction, industrial and agricultural sectors.
Highlighting the Tier 4 compliant series, the booth will feature a cutaway model of the Series 1500, an in-line 6-cylinder engine with selective catalyst reduction (SCR) exhaust aftertreatment  that is designed with ease of installation for OEMs. The Series 1500 offers power ratings from 400 to 460 kW (536 to 617 bhp). Also on display in the booth will be the Series 1000, covering a power range from 100 to 260 kW (134 to 349 bhp) with SCR, the Series 1300, covering a power range from 320 to 390 kW (429 to 523 bhp), the Series 1600, which is available for the power range 567 up to 730 kW (760 up to 979 bhp), as well as the MTU Onsite Energy Series 1600 Generator Set, rated at 500 kWe.

Additionally, engines from MTU’s Series 2000 and 4000 product lines, which are designed for heavy-duty mining applications such as mine haul trucks and excavators, will be on display, including the 16V 2000 and the 12V 4000. Both engines are Tier 4 final-compliant without the use of exhaust aftertreatment, a first for the mining and construction industries.

The all-new MTU Power Drive Unit, used for providing mechanical power to a variety of equipment, such as pumps, drills and various industrial machines, will also be featured. The new Power Drive Unit will utilize MTU’s SCR-only Tier 4 Final-compliant engine lineup, from the Series 1000 to the Series 1500. The MTU Power Drive Units will meet EPA Tier 4 emissions without using Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) or Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC). MTU is developing this product family with different power ranges, adaptations and for additional emission levels.

CONEXPO attendees are also invited to visit the MTU ValueCare display located in the MTU exhibit. While there, attendees can learn about MTU and MTU Onsite Energy’s complete portfolio of genuine parts, expert service and remanufactured engines.
