ZF introduces its transfer case TC 27, designed for demanding all-wheel drive applications.
- Allows for increased engine output while saving on fuel
- Wide variety of configuration options
- Well suited for trucks, all-terrain cranes, dump trucks, articulated haulers and other special AWD vehicles
- Can process maximum input speed of 3,200 rpm, enabling shorter axle-drive ratios at constant maximum speed
- Input torque of 27,000 Nm (19,914.2 ft.-lbs.)
- Power take-off rated to 8,500 Nm (6,269.3 ft.-lbs.)
- Efficiency has been optimized to an extent that external oil cooler is no longer required for many applications, further simplifying installation space and cost
- Weighs around 100 kg (220.5 lbs.) less than predecessor due to sleeker housing and use of aluminum
- Weight savings can reduce fuel consumption or increase load capacity
- Optional sensors which measure oil level and temperature enable driver to see current operating state
- Other software functions can be executed via a control unit if required
- Can be combined with ZF’s Automatic Drivetrain Management (ADM) which controls all inter-axle and inter-wheel differential locks within vehicle automatically to improve driving stability and prevents damage to driveline due to incorrect usage
- Reduced number of mounting points simplify installation
- Includes only two suspension points where previously there were three
- New central connectors make it impossible to mix up pneumatic and electrical connections
- Comes in two different sizes to respond to individual vehicle needs
- S variant offers 300 mm (11.8 in.) of shaft distance, while L variant has shaft distance of 396 mm (15.6 in.)
