FPT Industrial, an Iveco Group brand, is supplying powertrains for several new agricultural machines from New Holland. The engines will be used in a prototype hybrid telehandler, the T7 Standard Wheelbase (SWB) tractor series and the new T7 XD tractor series.
F28 Hybrid Powers Prototype Telehandler
New Holland's Hybrid Prototype Telehandler will utilize FPT's F28 Hybrid natural gas engine. The Stage V compliant powertrain combines a 2.8 L, four-cylinder natural gas engine with an integrated e-drive. The system provides up to 75 kW of electric power and is designed as a plug-and-play replacement for larger diesel engines. According to FPT, the hybrid architecture can achieve up to 70% energy savings and a 30% performance improvement compared to diesel alternatives in field tests.
N67 and CURSOR 9 Engines for New Tractors
For its new T7 Standard Wheelbase tractors, covering the 180-225 hp range, New Holland has selected FPT's N67 engine. This 6.7 L, six-cylinder engine meets Stage V and Tier 4 Final emissions standards using the company's HI-eSCR2 aftertreatment system.
The new, higher-horsepower T7 XD series, which ranges from 360-435 hp, will be equipped with the FPT CURSOR 9 engine. The 8.7 L, six-cylinder engine also meets Stage V and Tier 4 Final standards and features an electronic variable-geometry turbocharger and the HI-eSCR2 aftertreatment system.
