Diverse, special and aspiring: The global market for off-the-road (OTR) tires is growing. According to recent studies, it is expected to show an overall compound annual growth rate of 4% in volume terms and more than 5% in value terms by 2022. Digitization, automation and connectivity are the strongest growth drivers: Already today, eight out of 10 companies use specialized, digital solutions to handle and transport goods in the logistics sector for example. 1 Continental Enno Straten

At this year’s Tire Technology Expo in Hanover, Enno Straten, Head of Commercial Specialty Tires (CST) at Continental will be talking about these trends in the off-the-road business and how Continental is already coping with the challenges. “Continental is emerging from a tire manufacturer to a solutions provider for off-the-road operations,” says Straten. “Along with specific tires for the different industries and applications, our customers are increasingly asking for solutions which make their tires last longer. This is where our solutions and services such as ContiConnect, ContiPressureCheck and C-Logger come into play.”

Straten will be holding the key note speech on February, 20. The speech is part of the conference program of tire technology expo. With over 290 exhibitors and more than 5,000 attendees, the fair is the world’s premier technology showcase. Exhibits comprise equipment and materials covering the complete spectrum of the tire manufacturing process. The exhibition will take place from February 20-22 in Hanover.
