FAE has introduced a new feature for its FAE App, available for iOS and Android devices, which allows operators to reposition the company’s remote-controlled tracked carriers if the remote-control signal is lost. The function is designed to reduce vehicle downtime by enabling movement without the need for external transport equipment.

The new capability is available for FAE’s RCU55, RCU75 and RCU120 models. Using the app on a smartphone, operators can perform several key vehicle functions, with all movements executed at a limited speed to ensure safety.

The app-based controls include the ability to:

  • Switch the diesel engine on and off and manage its rotational speed.
  • Drive and steer the vehicle, including in reverse.
  • Raise or lower the attachment.
  • Adjust the undercarriage to widen or narrow the track width.

This feature will be standard on all new RCU55, RCU75 and RCU120 vehicles. It is also available for existing models through a software update.

The new repositioning function is an addition to the app's existing features which aid vehicle monitoring and maintenance.

Real-Time Information

The app’s interface allows for monitoring of machine operation data such as the diesel engine’s load percentage, instant fuel economy and working pressure. It also provides malfunction alerts.

Diagnostics

The FAE App displays failures with descriptions of the malfunction and the parts involved. Users can also export problem reports to assist with service and repairs.

Scheduled Maintenance

The app provides alerts for required maintenance, including the number of hours remaining until the next scheduled service and a list of required tasks.
