Parker Hannifin has launched the SCPSDI, a pressure switch designed for use in demanding industrial and mobile applications including off-road machinery, power generation and transportation. The device provides pressure switching with diagnostics and monitoring functions for robust, low-maintenance operation.

Features and benefits

  • Pressure ranges from 4 bar up to 600 bar
  • External-thread pressure port rotates independently of the housing
  • Housing can be rotated over 240 degrees after installation
  • Seal-free design allows use with a wide variety of media
  • Robust metal housing is resistant to moisture, shock and vibrations
  • Beveled display can be rotated 180 degrees for overhead installation
  • Two-color indicator for switching status
  • Configurable switching and analogue outputs
  • Standard I/O-Link communication

The SCPSDI is designed for installation in tight spaces. Its external-thread pressure port can be rotated independently of the housing, and the housing itself can be rotated after installation to adapt to various mounting conditions. For the internal-thread pressure port option, all components that come into contact with the pressurized medium are made from stainless steel. A seal-free design allows the sensor to be used with a wide variety of substances, including corrosive and aggressive media.

The device uses a long-term stable and maintenance-free measuring cell to record pressure. Its metal housing contains no moving seals, making it resistant to moisture, shock and vibrations common in harsh industrial environments. A beveled display is designed for readability from a distance and can be rotated for overhead installation.

Each switching output can be individually configured as normally open or normally closed contacts, with adjustable on/off switching pressures, delay times and hysteresis or window functions. Depending on the version, the analogue output can be configured as either a switchable current output (0–20 mA or 4–20 mA) or a voltage output (0–10 V). I/O-Link communication is integrated as a standard feature for integration with modern automation systems.

The launch of the SCPSDI is part of the renewal of Parker’s controller family range. The pressure switch is now available worldwide through Parker’s authorized distributors and sales channels.
