Canfield Industries, Inc., parent company of Canfield Connector and Spartan Scientific, has added a new 260-ton injection molding press at its Youngstown, Ohio, facility, a move designed to expand its manufacturing capabilities.

The new Q-Series injection molding press provides the size and tonnage needed for newer product designs, including larger parts that require greater molding capacity. According to company officials, the investment offers more capacity to support new designs and larger components for manufacturing in the United States, alongside its Made in the USA foundation.

When Canfield Industries acquired its McClurg Road location, the company allocated space and resources for equipment of this scale. The new press builds on that planning by expanding design parameters and helping meet production needs for larger components.

Adding the process in-house also gives Canfield Industries greater control over production and strengthens its ability to compete, innovate and support future product development.
