Automation, connectivity and electromobility powered through the show floor and the conference sessions during this year's iVT Expo, which took place Aug. 21-22 in Rosemont, Ill.

Everything from actuators and transmission valves to pumps, cylinders and joysticks were on display, touting benefits that use less energy, are safer for employees and meet industry standards.

Attendees saw firsthand the next generation of off-highway vehicles, including those used in construction, mining, agriculture, material handling, forklifts and forestry.

And 40-plus expert speakers discussed key topics around the future of industrial vehicles, electric, hybrid and alternative powertrain solutions, developments in autonomous off-road vehicle technology and more.

This being my second iVT show experience, it's safe to say, the OEM marketplace continues to innovate for efficiency, design, safety and productivity. Some products on display haven't even hit the North American market yet.

For instance, SIKO Products’ CEO Lutz Kettenhofen talked about the importance of mobile automation, the company’s new position-detection machine and what it takes to be an all-in-one supplier to the OEM industry.

Athan Tsokolas, electrification product manager for Vanguard, walked through what components make up a full battery system, how they're used supported by tech partners and integrators and more.

Thomas Magnete’s Heinz Strickler, director of sales and marketing, highlighted its host of products on display, including actuators, pilot heads, transmission valves and more.

And, Tomi Dewes, VP of Katsa’s Gearbox business, details what the Twin Disc acquisition means for its North American customers.

Until next year... keep the automation, connectivity and electromobility powering through.
