Prestolite E-Propulsion Systems (PEPS), a 50/50 joint-venture between TM4 Inc. and Prestolite Electric Beijing Limited, has earned ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification for the design and manufacture of motor systems. Leveraging TM4’s licensed technologies and products, PEPS develops, manufactures and markets electric and hybrid powertrain systems for the Chinese sustainable mobility market.

Achieving ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification demonstrates that PEPS strictly follows the automotive industry’s highest recognized quality standards. ISO/TS 16949 defines principles for the implementation of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement and is recognized throughout the whole automotive supply chain. More precisely, PEPS’ internal processes such as supplier selection, quality inspection, production and testing have been reviewed and certified by an independent auditor.

Since launch of production in 2014, Prestolite E-Propulsion Systems has made significant improvements throughout its operations. With the addition of new manufacturing equipment to the plant and by measuring key performance indicators, PEPS has been able to increase plant productivity and product quality; ultimately ensuring timely deliveries to its customers.

“Achieving ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification is a significant accomplishment in our continuous quality management effort,” says TM4’s COO and PEPS board member, Robert Baril. “PEPS is committed to focusing on continual quality improvements across all aspects of our business in order to deliver excellent products and services to our clients.”
