Navistar Inc. announces the addition of Shaw Tracking, one of Canada's major telematics providers, to its industry-leading, open architecture remote diagnostics system, OnCommand Connection (OCC) for its flagship brand of International trucks.
"OnCommand Connection has had an extremely rapid rollout in the Canadian market, and we believe, with the addition of Shaw Tracking, we are set up to provide a telematics and remote vehicle health monitoring solution to every customer," says Mike Cerilli, Vice President and General Manager, Connected Vehicle Business, Navistar. "Furthermore, Navistar's partnership with Shaw Tracking demonstrates our commitment to partnering with reputable providers our customers currently leverage, in order to help monitor and optimize their fleet's performance."
OnCommand Connection will work through Shaw Tracking's Mobile Computing Platform (MCP) to transmit vehicle status and diagnostic trouble code data to Navistar. OCC then interprets this data and creates easy-to-understand vehicle health reports and recommended action plans for all brands of vehicles and engines. This service will enable customers to achieve more efficient repairs and maintenance, better lifecycle value and an overall lower total cost of ownership—a combination that will give customers increased visibility and better control of their business.
"We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Navistar. Our telematics system, now enhanced with OnCommand Connection, is a win-win for our customers," says Grant Fraser, Director of Operations at Shaw Tracking. "With enhanced visibility into the operational health of their trucks, our customers can better understand the severity of vehicle issues and determine the appropriate actions—ultimately leading to increased uptime."
OnCommand Connection is available now as a standard, no-charge feature on all new International trucks, legacy International trucks, and non-International vehicles.
